Process
How ordering works.
- 1
Tell us what you need
Add products to a request or simply describe the job. The most useful detail is your door lock or access system (make and model), plus rough quantities and when you need them.
- 2
We confirm chip compatibility
Every lock, locker and payment system reads specific chips. We confirm the right chip and frequency for yours, and if there is any doubt we send blank test cards or bands to try on your hardware before anything is printed.
- 3
Written quote
We reply within 1 business day with a quote listing the product, chip, print method, quantity and a firm production and delivery date.
- 4
Artwork and proof
Send your logo or full design, or ask us to lay it out. You receive a digital proof showing exactly how it will print, and nothing goes into production until you approve it.
- 5
Production and read testing
Items are printed, chipped and finished to the approved proof. Chips are read-tested before packing, so you do not find a dead card at the front desk.
- 6
Delivery and reorders
Orders ship packed and labelled by batch. We keep your artwork and chip specification on file, so reordering is a single email.
FAQ
Questions we are often asked.
Something else on your mind? Ask us directly.
Will your key cards work with my door locks?
Almost certainly, but we check first. Tell us the make and model of your lock system (for example VingCard, Saflok, Onity or Salto) and we match the chip to it. If there is any doubt, we send test cards to try on your doors and encoder before production.
Which chip types do you supply?
The common hospitality and access chips: 13.56 MHz (such as MIFARE Classic 1K and 4K, MIFARE Ultralight, MIFARE DESFire and NTAG213/215/216), 125 kHz proximity (such as EM4200/EM4305 and T5577), and UHF for long-range reading. Dual-frequency cards and bands are available.
Do you encode the cards for my rooms?
Guest room keys are normally encoded at your front desk with the encoder supplied by your lock manufacturer, so we supply cards ready for that. For cashless, membership and NFC products we can pre-programme where your system allows.
What is the minimum order?
Minimums vary by product, and we confirm yours in the quote.
How long does an order take?
Most orders take 4 to 8 weeks from artwork approval; your quote states the delivery date. Blank cards and readers are usually quicker; wooden cards and large custom runs take longer.
What artwork do you need?
Vector artwork (Adobe Illustrator .ai, EPS, SVG or a vector PDF) with your Pantone or CMYK colours gives the best result. If you only have a PNG or your brand guidelines, send those and we will advise or set it up for you.
Can we see a sample first?
Yes. You always approve a digital proof, and for new chip types or materials we can send physical samples, including blank test cards for your locks.
How do payment terms work?
Payment terms are agreed on each quote when you are ready to go ahead. Nothing is bought or paid for on this website.
Can custom cards be returned?
Because they are printed with your artwork, custom items cannot be returned for change of mind. If anything arrives faulty or does not match the approved proof, tell us promptly and we will replace it.
