Cashless Festival Wristbands
Cashless Festival Wristbands, Matched to Your Platform
The short answer
A cashless festival wristband carries a chip with a unique ID. Your cashless platform links that ID to a balance or a card, so the band itself holds no money. We supply bands with the chip and encoding your platform specifies, printed to your event artwork.
What we need from you
- Your cashless platform's band specification: chip type, UID format and any pre-encoding
- Event dates and expected attendance, split by ticket type or day
- The band type you want, and whether it is single-use or reused
- Your artwork and colors, plus any numbering, barcode or QR code on the tag
- Typical order
- Minimums vary by product, and we confirm yours in the quote.
- Lead time
- Most orders take 4 to 8 weeks from artwork approval. Your quote gives you a firm date.
RFID and NFC wristbands with the chip and encoding your cashless platform specifies, for festivals, concerts and multi-day events.
Cash slows every bar queue and every food stall. With a cashless wristband, guests tap to pay, queues move, and the band that opened the gate also buys the drinks.
We supply the bands; your cashless platform supplies the system. We confirm the chip and encoding with you and your platform before production, print the bands to your artwork, and read-test every chip before packing, so bands work on gate day.
What we handle
Taken off your plate.
01
Matched to your platform
The chip type, UID format and encoding your cashless platform specifies.
02
Pre-encoding
Where your platform allows, bands can be pre-programmed before they ship.
03
Tamper-evident
One-way sliders and tamper-evident closures make a fitted band hard to remove without cutting it.
04
Read-tested
Every chip is read-tested before packing, so dead bands never reach your gates.
How cashless wristbands work
The guest gets a band
Bands are fitted at the gate or posted out with tickets. Each chip has its own unique ID.
The ID is linked to a balance
The guest tops up or links a payment card in your cashless platform. The money sits in the platform, not on the band.
Tap to pay
At the bar, food stalls or merchandise, staff tap the band on the reader and the platform takes the payment from the balance.
After the event
Any unused balance is handled by your platform under its own refund rules.
This is a closed-loop system: the band only works at your event, and only through your platform.
What your platform needs from the band
Your cashless platform decides the chip, not the band maker. Ask it for a written band specification, and send it to us with your quote request. It usually covers:
- Chip type: most cashless bands use HF 13.56 MHz chips, such as the MIFARE family or NFC (NTAG). Some platforms add UHF for hands-free lanes.
- UID format: how the platform reads each chip's unique ID.
- Pre-encoding: whether bands need data written before they ship. We can pre-program bands where your platform allows.
- Printing on the tag: numbering, a barcode or a QR code that matches the chip, if your platform uses one.
Our guide to the RFID chip for event access control explains the chip options in more detail.
Bands that suit cashless
- Woven Fabric Wristbands: design woven into the strap, a sealed PVC tag carrying the chip, and a one-way slider. Showerproof, for multi-day festivals.
- Polyester Festival Wristbands with Card Tag: sublimation-printed edge to edge, with an HF 13.56 MHz (NTAG213/216, MIFARE) or UHF chip in the card tag. Single-use or multi-day.
- Tyvek RFID Wristbands: tear-resistant with an HF 13.56 MHz (NFC) or UHF inlay and tamper-evident adhesive. The low-cost choice for one-day events.
- Slim Sport Silicone Wristbands: an adjustable, waterproof silicone band with the chip in a slim face, for reusable event bands and crew.

Questions buyers ask
How does cashless work at a festival?
Each wristband carries a chip with a unique ID. Your cashless platform links that ID to a balance or a payment card, and staff tap the band on a reader to take payment at bars and stalls. The band holds no money itself. Our guide to the RFID chip for event access control explains the chips.
What happens if a band is lost?
Because the balance lives in your cashless platform, not on the band, the lost band's ID can be canceled in the platform and the balance moved to a new band, following your platform's process. Nobody can spend from a canceled band. Our guide to stopping wristband sharing covers related controls.
Who handles refunds?
Your cashless platform. It holds the balances and runs top-ups and refunds under its own rules, so ask your platform how unused balances are returned after the event. We supply the wristbands and confirm the chip and encoding your platform needs. See which event wristband to choose the band itself.
