Cashless Resorts
Let guests leave the wallet in the safe.
The short answer
Cashless wristbands for resorts carry a chip with an ID that your point-of-sale or property management system links to the guest's folio or tab, so guests charge food, drinks and treatments with a tap. We supply the bands and confirm the chip and data format with your system provider before production.
What we need from you
- Your point-of-sale or property management system, and the chip and data format it reads
- Any door locks, lockers or gates the same band should open
- How many guests or bands, and whether bands are reused or single-use
- Your logo and colors, and when you need the bands on site
- Typical order
- Minimums vary by product, and we confirm yours in the quote.
- Lead time
- Most orders take 4 to 8 weeks from artwork approval. Your quote gives you a firm date.
Wristbands and cards that let guests charge purchases to their room, from the pool bar to the spa.
All-inclusive and resort properties spend heavily on getting guests to relax. Asking them to carry a card or phone to the pool undoes some of that. A wristband or card linked to the guest's folio lets them charge food, drinks and treatments with a tap.
We supply the credentials. Your point-of-sale or property management provider supplies the system. We confirm the chip type and data format with them before production, so bands work on day one.

How resort cashless works
Issue the band
At check-in, the front desk hands over a band and links its chip ID to the guest's folio in your system.
Tap to charge
At the pool bar, restaurant or spa, staff tap the band on the reader and the charge goes to the folio.
Settle at checkout
The guest settles the folio as usual, and the band's ID is canceled in your system.
If the band uses the same chip as your door locks, it can open the room too, so guests can leave the key card and the wallet in the safe.
Cashless at waterparks
At a waterpark the band carries only an ID. The balance or tab lives in your POS, which links the band to a card or a prepaid amount at the gate, so nothing of value is lost if a band comes off in the wave pool.
Choose a band made for water: the one-piece silicone band is fully waterproof and chlorine and salt resistant, and the adjustable silicone band is fully waterproof. See pools, spas and waterparks for the full material comparison.
Questions buyers ask
Does the wristband store money?
Not in a typical resort or waterpark setup. The band carries a chip with an ID, and your point-of-sale or property management system links that ID to the guest's folio, tab or balance. If a band is lost, the ID is canceled in your system and a new band is linked.
Can one band open the room and pay?
Yes, if your locks and your POS can read the same chip. Where they read different chips, dual-frequency bands carry both in one band. We confirm the chip with your lock and POS providers before production. Our guide to 125 kHz vs 13.56 MHz explains the two frequencies.
What if a guest loses a band?
Your front desk cancels the lost band's ID in your system and links a spare band to the same folio. Order spare stock with your bands so desks can reissue straight away. Nothing of value is on the band itself, so a lost band costs only the band. Our guide to disposable vs reusable RFID wristbands helps you plan stock.
